About Alison Redman
British jeweller Alison Redman has 15 years experience designing and making individual handmade jewellery.
Alison trained at the famous Birmingham School of Jewellery; and then began her career in Hatton Gardens London. She worked in the jewellery trade as a goldsmith, a patternmaker and a designer, before spending 4 years at John Mackellar’s Designer Jewellery in Hereford. She launched her own ‘Original’ collection in 1998.
Since then she has built up four collections of silver and gold jewellery which include three contemporary ranges, and a bridal range which features a unique collection of stunning handmade silver tiaras.
Bespoke Jewellery
Alongside these collections, Alison has designed and made hundreds of unique bespoke pieces for clients, which have been given as treasured gifts or marked special occasions. These have ranged from fun silver spoon & fork cufflinks to gem encrusted engagement rings. Alison gets huge satisfaction from both the creative process and seeing the end result in people’s lives.
Bespoke Mum...
When not busy designing and making jewellery in the workshop, Alison is busy with her two boys (three including ‘hubby’!). They all love gardening and spending time at the beach, sailing and trying to catch sea creatures.

Jewellery Workshops
In 2006 Alison started teaching jewellery through a funded organisation called Making Space who offer many different art and craft courses and workshops. Alison has taught jewellery making to both children and adults.
Earlier this year Alison organised her own adults one day workshop held at the local Arts Centre in Salisbury, another successful day and the students learnt the technique of etching with some lovely results, including an etched butterfly brooch which was a gift to a Mum.
“Everyone is so eager to learn and get stuck in that it’s a joy to be able to pass on some of my basic jewellery skills and techniques. People always think they are not creative or artistic, so they are often amazed that come the end of the day they are taking home a unique piece of jewellery that they’ve made!”
Next Jewellery Workshop - In October Alison will be running a childrens workshop also at the Arts Centre in Salisbury, at this one we will be making initial charms for mobile phones or pendants. Alison is also delighted to announce that from the end of September she will be running the jewellery courses at Eastleigh College, these are both beginners and advanced.

Jewellery Parties
After some gentle persuation by a friend, Alison decided to start doing jewellery parties, and from the very first one they have been a terrific success with friends, family and clients.
How it Works? You (the hostess) invite a group of friends (around 6-12 works best) for an evening of drinks, nibbles and designer jewellery shopping! Jewellery parties can be totally impromptu events but work really well before a wedding, anniversary, hen-party or the christmas party season.
It's a fun and informal evening with everyone having the chance to try on lots of different pieces of jewellery and getting the chance to talk to Alison about the jewellery. You'll also get to take home anything that takes your fancy or maybe commission a piece that someone else got to first!
